I have been to the underworld. I know the way back.

Before I did this work, I was carrying the full weight of my family's trauma in my body. I had no felt sense of who I was beneath the layers of cultural and familial conditioning. I could not love myself. I genuinely could not find myself.

What changed everything was a kiss with death. A moment that required me to look at my life with complete honesty and admit that nearly everything, how I was living, what I was choosing, who I believed myself to be, had been built from someone else's blueprint.

What followed was not metaphorical dissolution. I had to confront and heal sexual trauma, financial trauma, the particular damage of having surrendered my spiritual authority to systems and people outside of me. It was a harsh awakening. I descended into the deepest parts of my own subconscious, my relationship to power, to God, to money, to my body, and I looked honestly at what was there.

What I came out with was something I did not know I was capable of being: a confident woman whose loyalty is to her own soul above anything else. My confidence stopped depending on external conditions. I became the servant of my own spiritual evolution, and that has remained the most stable, unmovable anchor point in my life.
